fusionOne and Mobileway Inc USA Provide Mobile Subscribers with Wireless Access to Synchronized Data.
fusionOne, a pioneer and leader in the development of next-generation Internet and wireless
synchronization services, today announced a partnership with Mobileway Inc USA, a leading
provider of global wireless access and content distribution via short message service (SMS)
to wireless devices. Now, mobile phone users can access their personal information-such
as contact and calendar appointments-fully synchronized with multiple PCs, handheld organizers,
and mobile phones regardless of geographic location. The result is a global integration
and sharing of data across all fusionOne-enabled mobile devices, applications, and consumer
platforms.
As part of this alliance, Mobileway Inc USA will distribute user-authorized data between
the fusionOne service platform and fusionOne-enabled devices using SMS via its global network
hub. During the synchronization process, data from the fusionOne service is delivered
through Mobileway Inc USA's wireless network hub, which routes the data to fusionOne
enabled devices.
"Together, Mobileway Inc USA and fusionOne are introducing an exciting and effective
capability to mobile users worldwide," said Patrice Peyret, CEO of Mobileway Inc USA,
"Transmitting data via short message service is one of the most effective forms of
communication. By combining our technologies to empower the mobile phone user with
the ability to synchronize calendar and contact information, Mobileway Inc USA and
fusionOne are enabling true mobility."
"fusionOne is committed to providing mobile users the technology to access and manage the
information they need," said Rick Onyon, president and CEO of fusionOne. "Because of
its established wireless network and its reputation as an industry leader, Mobileway Inc USA
was the obvious choice to provide our users with global access to their information."
The Mobileway Inc USA network hub is set up in accordance with the GSM MoU Association
specification for bulk SMS data transfer procedure. It offers distribution of information,
alerts, notifications and product offers in an access-controlled way to mobile users (no spamming),
provision of software updates and patches to mobile phones, routing of data/text messages to
non-IP phones even when portable (carrier-independent) phone numbers have been implemented.
To ensure the highest quality of service, Mobileway Inc USA has established and
acquired data links to the SMS Centers and OTA Provisioning Servers of all major wireless
network operators. This enables Mobileway Inc USA to remain neutral regarding
existing inter working agreements. It also guarantees that messaging alerts are fully
operational and that we can provide pull/push applications, which cannot be achieved through
pre-existing inter working arrangements. To date, Mobileway Inc USA has established
agreements with more than 60 major GSM operators and has already begun addressing TDMA and
CDMA networks.
fusionOne's Internet sync service is based on a unique store-and-forward, transaction-based
architecture, rapidly synchronizing information to multiple devices, providing synchronization
for all personal digital information, including calendar, contacts, email, bookmarks, even
files and folders. Anytime information is changed on one device, Web site or system,
the change is transmitted through the Internet as a 'transaction' to the other devices.
It is automatically applied to the local application on that device, making
synchronization nearly invisible. Now, when users enter a new contact into their
PIM application, the information will automatically be updated on a mobile phone as well
as a PDA.
A North American company with operational headquarters in Paris, France, Mobileway Inc USA,
has offices located throughout Europe, Asia, and the United States.
