Ecrio and Mobileway Partner
to Deliver Instant Messaging to Wireless Network Operators
and Businesses Globally
Ecrio Inc., a leading provider

networks, today announced a partnership to deliver global
instant messaging solutions over fixed and wireless networks.
Through this partnership, Ecrio and Mobileway have made
available the Ecrio Rich Instant Messaging Platform over
the Mobileway Global Network. Corporate and consumer users
can now send messages from any mobile phone, on any network,
to any device or desktop. They can exchange text, images,
drawings, and business documents worldwide. In addition,
enhanced presence, availability, and location knowledge
is persistently shared among the user community, facilitating
general interaction as well as critical business applications.

The solution includes Ecrio's
robust carrier-grade messaging server that seamlessly integrates
into Mobileway's global network. The Ecrio Rich Instant
Messaging Platform is a client/server offering enabling
the sharing of multimedia content between wireless and desktop
devices. The server includes messaging management and notification
engines for delivering messages and dynamically transcodes
content for the recipient device, as well as includes security,
authentication, presence & availability modules. Revenue
generating third-party services, including m-commerce applications,
are easily integrated into the system via an open application
interface, enhancing the system's value.
From a personal digital assistant
(PDA), personal computer, WAP or SMS enabled phones;
users may send each other handwritten notes, digital pictures,
video clips, and text messages over any 2G, 2.5G, and 3G
network. The Ecrio Rich Instant Messaging Platform supports
one-to-one, broadcast, and chat messaging, and is interoperable
with popular instant messaging services. Ecrio Rich Instant
Messaging Platform users may personalize their simple text
messages with rich content when communicating with Pals
on services Powered by Ecrio, on SMS phones, or Yahoo!
and MSN® messaging services. Ecrio Messenger Clients
are available on Palm OS, Pocket PC, Rim Wireless,
and Symbian EPOC PDAs, WAP and SMS phones, as well
as personal computers.
