MOBILEWAY AND FUNMAIL STRIKE GLOBAL ALLIANCE
Cooperation will enable operators around the world to offer FunMail to their users

Mobileway® and FunMail announced today that they will cooperate to deliver FunMail to Mobileway customers worldwide. Under the agreement, FunMail has integrated its animated messaging system into Mobileway's global hubs, enabling Mobileway to easily offer FunMail to its mobile operator customers worldwide.

"We are pleased to be working with Mobileway," said FunMail CEO Adam Lavine. "This partnership leverages FunMail's unique visual messaging technology and Mobileway's impressive global distribution. It's a great combination."

FunMail is the world's first system to 'translate' text messages into fun, engaging animation or visuals. Subscribers send a simple SMS text to their friends, which on passing through FunMail's server is magically analyzed and a relevant cartoon generated and added to the message. Users have the ability to opt for a message preview option allowing them to pick and choose from FunMail's cartoon database featuring well-known cartoon series such as South Park and Garfield. The FunMail system can also be easily "white labeled" for other content or brand owners.

Mobileway ensures seamless, real-time delivery of the animated messages via its unrivalled mobile network reach. With bilateral commercial contracts in place with 88 of the world's leading mobile operators, Mobileway is able to truly deliver a full direct connection service both on a local level and spanning the globe.

"Our global capability in both SMS traffic delivery and billing tracking, positions us as the only credible partner for large-scale revenue sharing schemes such as FunMail's innovative animated messaging system," explained Bob Pike, Executive Vice President for Global Marketing and Business Development, Mobileway. "Given the explosive growth of SMS as a medium particularly among today's increasingly mobile youth, providing them with the ability to send animated messages to their peers is an enormous revenue generator for all. Messaging schemes such as this are massively dependent upon the efficiency of the delivery, this is a challenge we rise to and exceed time and time again."

FunMail themselves are celebrating the launch of their latest 2.0 version at the 3GSM Congress in Cannes. This latest version allows for a capacity exceeding 8 million SMS messages each day. FunMail CEO, Adam Lavine commented, "The success of FunMail has driven us to not only increase the capacity for animated message delivery today, but also to develop the technology to ensure a smooth migration into the forthcoming enhanced messaging platforms such as MMS . In order to meet the burgeoning demands of the youth market in particular, we need to be confident and reassured in our delivery channels. This is why we are delighted to count Mobileway as one of our key partners, together we really do deliver Fun to our consumers' fingertips."

Demonstrations of FunMail's animated messaging service powered by Mobileway can be witnessed on Mobileway's stand (B1, Hall 1) or FunMail's stand (F9, Hall 2) at the mobile industry's leading event, 3GSM Congress, taking place at Palais des Festivals, Cannes, France 19-22 February 2002.
