Mobileway appoints ex-Siemens operations director as new technical operations director.

Colin Masterson (32), formerly operations director of intelligent networks for Siemens in France, has been appointed as technical operations director of Mobileway, the leading provider of global wireless access and content distribution.  In his new role, Colin is responsible for the expansion of the technical division to support anticipated strong demand from blue-chip organisations worldwide as they roll out wireless information services.  Colin will also oversee Mobileway's global customer care organisation, which provides round-the-clock support services to Mobileway's customers worldwide.  Over the coming months this will also involve expanding the customer care team from its current base in Paris, to Mobileway's second operations hub in Singapore.

Colin has over 10 year's experience in the mobile industry working for Siemens and Ericsson in technical roles, managing a multinational team of IT engineers, and overseeing the installation and maintenance of network infrastructure.  Colin's challenge at Mobileway will be to scale-up the IT and network operations to support Mobileway's growing global customer base of blue-chip organisations.

Mobileway's chief executive officer and co-founder Patrice Peyret said: "We would like to welcome Colin to Mobileway to help us develop a strong team of IT professionals and the most advanced global network infrastructure for mobile data provision.  We aim to provide global wireless access and content distribution for the largest organisations in the world and we will develop technical standards that are second to none in the wireless industry."

Previously at Siemens, Colin was responsible for a technical team of fifty-five people comprising fifteen different nationalities.  As operations director, he also managed installation and maintenance of network infrastructure and was in charge of negotiating service level agreements with customers and contractors.

Before joining Siemens, Colin was at Ericsson for 8 years.  He joined as a subscriber access manager and later became a member of the company's technical support team, in charge of diagnostic validation and customer acceptance.  He was also a member of ISP board in service performance within the Ericsson group.

Colin trained as an electronic engineer at the Institute of Technology in Dublin, Ireland, and then became a software developer before he joined Ericsson.  Colin is bilingual, speaking both English and French.
