Mobileway® demonstrates at CommunicAsia 2002 its leading position in managing and monetizing mobile transactions across the globe. Mobileway is a pioneer in the field of SMS technology possessing the most extensive global reach for message transportation, through bilateral commercial agreements with 88 of the World's leading mobile network operators ensuring direct access to more than 90% of the World's mobile users.
Mobile data and in particular messaging has grown exponentially over the past few years. While the European market is considered to be reaching ‘maturity’, growth rates in Asia Pacific are still high with analysts predicting growth of around 41% in this year alone. The emergence of ‘revenue sharing’ and reverse billing has been key in meeting consumers’ demands for ever-richer content and services, as well as attracting big-brand content providers’ to enter the lucrative mobile space and providing carriers with new revenue streams sorely needed to offset the debts incurred through investment in 3G. In many countries chargeable mobile data via SMS, or premium content, accounts for around 15-20% of mobile operators’ ARPU , a figure that is growing almost daily.
Of Mobileway’s 88 carrier agreements, more than half of these support revenue-sharing, this legacy arms Mobileway with the capability to not only publish content on behalf of the content provider community both at a local level and globally, but also to handle the billing and settlement aspect of the mobile transaction. The settlement of funds to all parties involved in revenue sharing can be a slow process; in some countries content providers may not see their returns for up to 150 days. A privileged relationship with Citigroup allows Mobileway to address this issue by reducing this time lag down to 60 days at the most through a unique ‘bill-of-exchange’ arrangement and also provide customers with the opportunity to settle funds in 90 currencies.
This unique positioning ensures that Mobileway is truly powering today and tomorrow’s mobile transactions to suit every lifestyle – professional and personal. Mobileway will be demonstrating a selection of its current projects at CommunicAsia 2002, to find out more about these or about the company’s work around the globe please visit its booth, Hall 6, 6B3-01.
