Capping a record year of quadrupled revenues, after having exceeded 100 private connections to wireless networks, and signed its 250th customer, Mobileway, the global leader in managing and monetizing mobile transactions, today announced the appointment of two new members to its Board of Directors.
The two new board members are Bo Hedfors and Tony Philipp.
Bo Hedfors brings to the Board more than 34 years of global telecommunications experience in both wireline and wireless. Prior to establishing his own Chicago-based telecom/internet consulting practice in April this year, Bo was Executive Vice President of Motorola and President of its global wireless infrastructure business based in Chicago. Before joining Motorola in 1998, Bo Hedfors spent 30 years with Ericsson in a range of different management positions including President of Honeywell Ericsson Development Co. in Anaheim, California from 1984-1986, Chief Technology Officer of LM Ericsson in Bo’s native Sweden 1990-1993, and as President & CEO of Ericsson Inc in Dallas, Texas from 1994-1998. Bo currently serves on a number of boards including that of Openwave Systems Inc in California, SwitchCore AB, Virtutech AB and Castell Media AB in Sweden, and also chairs the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce in Chicago.
Tony Philipp, founder of iTransEuro, a company designed to help US and European companies expand their Internet business throughout Europe, currently serves as the President and EVP Business Development for leading document-clustering company, Vivisimo in Europe. Tony was formerly the Chief Operating Officer of Lycos Europe having joined the company in 1996 and during this time was instrumental in forming the Joint Venture between Lycos and Bertelsmann building upon the relationships with powerful licensing partners such as AOL, Netscape, Microsoft, Freeserve, Grolier, Burda, and Reuters - Lycos Bertelsmann is now the dominant Internet Pan European Navigation Service. Tony also serves as an advisor and sits on the board of several US and European technology companies and is a member of the Independent Directors Program of 3i plc.
