MOBILEWAY APPOINTS HEAD OF ASIA FOR ITS MOBILE MARKETING & ENTERTAINMENT BUSINESS
Key Appointment to Drive Compelling, Revenue Generating Wireless Campaigns for Media Owners, Content and Communication Providers
12 April 2004 Singapore
As part of its continuing expansion plans for the Asia Pacific region, Mobileway, the global provider of wireless marketing campaigns and content, today announced the appointment of Matthew Talbot as the Head of Asia. In his new role, Talbot is charged with spearheading Mobileway’s development of its Full Mobilization Service line of business targeted at media owners, content and communication providers in Asia.
Matthew Talbot brings with him an illustrious record to Mobileway. Until recently, Matthew was based out of Beijing as the CEO of MIG (Mobile Internet Group), providing a white-labeled software infrastructure for the deployment and delivery of content, applications and services to mobile users through its international network of operators. Matthew built the client base of MIG's mobilized customers to include major brands such as Sony Pictures, Disney, MSN, TV shows like “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” and “Big Brother”, as well as NBA All-Star Yao Ming. Matthew grew MIG from three employees to an over 40-strong team spanning Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, London, Sydney and the U.S.
Matthew says of his new appointment, “This is an extremely exciting phase, both personally and for Mobileway. We are witnessing a mounting acceptance of wireless campaigns complimenting existing traditional advertising and marketing media in Asia. My top priority is to assist our customers by providing them full mobilized services, which in turn help them to offer fun and compelling wireless campaigns to differentiate themselves from competitors, increase brand loyalty and generate additional sources of revenue.”
Prior to joining MIG, Matthew was with Tattersall’s - Australia's largest privately owned company and gaming and entertainment leader - as Marketing Strategic Planning Manager. Whilst at Tattersall’s, Matthew led the development and launch of Tatts.com and PhoneLotto - the company's online and IVR (Interactive Voice Recognition) based gaming brands, and was part of the successful bid team for the South African National Lottery.
Cyrille Even, General Manager and Vice President of Mobileway Asia Pacific, said of Matthew’s appointment, ”Matthew’s talent lies in his ability to initiate strategic development and constantly re-invent wireless marketing applications to advance the company’s growth. His dynamism and invaluable contacts made within the network operator environment and with premier international brands will enable Mobileway to further entrench and expand across Asia.”
