The
mobile phone is a powerful channel to communicate information or
send alerts to a wide base of people, and unlike email and direct
postal mail the recipients do read the messages sent. However, the
time and cost of outsourcing this functionality to a 3rd party can
often outweigh the benefits. Mobileway has solved this problem by
developing the ideal tool to solve this problem - The Mobileway
Messenger. The Messenger allows a user to send up to 50,000 SMS at
once to a pre-determined list of contacts. It is very simple, fast
and cost-effective to use and is ideal for internal employee
relations, customer news alerts or simply to manage your own
marketing campaigns.
Hosted by Mobileway, the Mobileway Messenger is essentially a web
interface through which you can send text messages to a database of
mobile users. Once Mobileway has activated your account, you will be
given the appropriate URL, username and password to gain access to
the messaging tool.
You first need to prepare your recipient list, by saving your
database as an Excel Comma Separated Values file (.csv) not as plain
excel format and then uploading it to the application. Once this is
complete you can choose to either select the more specific group
from this database, or simply send your message to all names
included. Enter your text message online (160 characters maximum)
and then the campaign is ready to be sent out to recipients. Once
you press 'GO' the messages are distributed to your target audience.
